Training and Fixtures Update
Do take note of the following:-
1) Fixtures have been changed and altered to accommodate another team in our Division. Select the link on the right to glance through the changes.
2) There will be training session next Tuesday 5th August @ Hougang Ave 9 Pitch, 7 - 9 pm under floodlights. Training will be conducted by Coach Yazid (Ex Marine Castle or sth like that coaching staff). He will be providing the training equipment (balls, cones) and even extra coaching staff to assist him. The manager and the committee requests that all be present for the above mentioned, as it is imperative that we get some training time under our belt before our next game. Attendance will also affect future match call-ups.
We will assess whether we wish to carry on regular training sessions, perhaps once fortnightly, after next Tuesday. If at least 20 of you guys make it down, cost for the training will be only $1.99 per person. If the manager is in a good mood, it may even be free.
Comms I/C will contact you guys for training confirmation soon. Have a good break this weekend and hope to see you come Tuesday!
Love,
King Henry.

Match Report
For an indepth biased and mostly fictitious account of what really happened, read on.
____________________________________________________________
Ok so we just had our first game. Ended up in a draw. A lucky draw, for them I mean. Seriously, for all their 'possession', all they did most was to check the integrity of our woodwork.
Us on the other hand, were absolutely dangerous. Concise and effective albeit rare forrays into their half was rewarded by 3 clear cut chances in the first half.
The first was a series of block shots involving Harun and Azmy. Their defenders were in sixes, sevens and sometimes eights, as they blocked everything that came their goalmouth's way. A lucky save for the goalkeeper ended the maelstrom.
The next chance fell to Azmy who operated as a lone striker. Pouncing on a great through ball by our dear Imran, he lobbed the wobbly keeper from 35 yards out, only for the ball to land on top of the net.
And finally our newcomer Saeed Rossi Puyol Al-Motor rounded their goalkeeer only to let the ball outrun him with a poor touch.
Whatever it is guys, we have a MAJOR problem. What is it about us and only starting our engines in the second half? Its no longer funny or something to joke about. We start off badly for every bloody game and only wake up for the first part of the second. And its the same story every game.
That issue has to be addressed before our next league game on the 10th of August against Seven Eleven FC. And to do so, there is likely for a training session to be conducted sometime late this week or early next. There will be a proper coach (with equipment and stuff) to beef up our strengths and address our weaknesses. Attendance for this training session will determine call-ups to future matches (there are after all we have about 28 players in total with 16 slots per game and only 11 will start).
More details about when and where to be posted later.
In the meantime, have a good rest, recover and re-charge your batteries. It was a real drainer of a game. Kudos to those listed below who attended and for giving your all.

Board of Directors Minutes of Meeting
Present: Committee Members, and a few Pakciks at the table next to us.
Venue: Mr. Prata, Tampines
Agendas Discussed:-
- Final FC HOBO board structure. Creation of posts for founding members. Creation of duties and responsibilities for all other members, from which 2 Captains will be chosen.
- Financial issues. Per game fees, accounting of possible excess funds. Collecting of funds per game. Payment of Funds to League Organizers.
- Jersey Issues. Remaining funds collection. Printing of new jerseys bought to supplement our stock of 16.
- Establishing Team Discipline. Punctuality of match day arrival will determine playing time. Fee payment discipline. Compulsory TEH or Breakfast after each game to unwind over nicotine.
The following will be the finalized board structure.

Note: Captains have not yet been voted. Those who have not yet held a post shall maintain priority for nomination.
Captains will be voted by all FC HOBO members after the first 4 games of this league. This is to create an opportunity for all members to size one another up and to make a wiser choice. The Team Manager and Asst. Manager will not be involved in the nominations and hence shall conduct the elections and votings to maintain impartiality.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Captains
FC HOBO board structure will dissolve on match day. He, the Captain, shall inherit full responsibility of all duties, which include:-
- Being the leader on/off the field.
- Assuming control over formations and substitutions.
- Maintaining control over player's conduct.
Financial issues
After great debate and discussion, players are now required to provide a match-day fee of only $8. Reduced from the initial $10. The Team Manager will always ensure that 15 or 16 players be present per match day, to achieve a minimum ability to cover each match's fees.
Members of the board, namely Sophan, Imran, Ruzaini and Rozaidi shall pay a lump sum of $120 each, as a means of providing FC HOBO with sufficient initial capital. That amount works out to $10 per game for the entire season.
The treasurer shall provide a spreadsheet for the players to sign over their payment fees after every game. This will be used as a means of keeping track of funds and prevent players from short-changing the Team.
Any possible excess of funds will be held by the Treasury who shall submit a monthly report to the board for auditing. Accounts will then be released for public viewing via http://www.fchobo.blogspot.com/Financial issues need to be dealt with extreme delicacy hence the serious notion.
Team Discipline
Punctuality
Players are now reminded to arrive on match day location at least 30 mins before kick-off. Doing so will cement your position on the starting eleven.
Players arriving any later than 15 mins before kick-off will not be granted a starting eleven position.
The above rule shall be enforced by the Team Manager and Asst. Manager.
Match Day Requirements (As stated by ESPzen Rules and Regulations)
Players are reminded to bring along and don their SHIN PADS for every game.
Smoking is generally frowned upon (I Don't understand why) so just watch where you puff. Especially in and around SSC fields.
Any violation of the above can result in points deduction. No Shit.

So in case you haven't noticed, there's plenty of big names missing for this upcoming fixture. No worries, we'll do our best and let God do the rest. For those who're on the list, do reach the venue by 1030 am. Any later will jeopardize your chances of being on the starting 11. No shit.
Directions Directions

So to cut to the friggin point, if you're on the CTE use Exit 10 at Braddell Road. Head towards the non-bishan heading way, East, I think.
Upon doing so, you'll notice the pitch on your right in no time. Do the necessary. (Run your vehicle over the centre divider and make a brand new entrance through the side fencing).
If you're not from the CTE, use the CTE. Otherwise, God Speed.

HOBO Bulletin: Early Weekday Edition
Good Evening.
Welcome to this totally irrelevant and inconsequential News Update.
I'm Luiz Felipe 'I'm-here-for-the-money' Scolari.
Sunday morning witnessed the final preparation football game for FC HOBO in the upcoming ESPZEN League, as they took on The Unyoung and Dangerous Rovers FC, in what turned out to be a fiercely contested match-up with the score finishing at 4-3.
Facing a minor shortage of players due to many being involved in Domestic Duty call-ups, FC HOBO kicked off the game with exactly 11 handsome men. 2 more appeared 10 mins later to the relief of the Team Manager and his assistant, who gladly gave way after having to fill in for them in the early stages.
The Unyoung and Dangerous Rovers FC (TUADRFC) took a shock early lead in the 'who keeps track of such things' minute as a defensive blunder by the usually solid Sasi Wan-too-fai-zed Kumar led to an easy finish by the opposing striker Tan Ching Chong.
TUADRFC scored a second goal following another blunder by custodian Abdul KTM Malik a few minutes later. TUADRFC's right winger Lim Ching Chong saw his shot squeeze under the body of Malik who dove late to his left. This happens to be Abdul Malik's first game since announcing his retirement from football in 2001 to fully focus on polishing his motorbike.
FC HOBO's new signing, Firdaus Crazy Frog announced his entry into the team by scoring goals in the 25th, 38th and 60th minute. Team Manager had this to say of Crazy Frog,
" He shows great composure and possesses immense natural speed, power and agression. Perhaps it could be due to his background in the Police Special Ops. Nonetheless, he has begun to repay the transfer fee we paid by scoring a hatrick on his debut. If only he would come on time from now on..."
Rozaididinho Waveo grabbed the winner by toe poking the ball into the net, after TUADRFC's keeper fumbled a towering header by Imraniov Bajajiov following a corner.
Reports on how their third goal was scored have been deemed irrelevant by our editors.
More importantly, as the game inched on, TUADRFC's players appeared more and more to behave as their name suggests. As they lived up to their billing as 'Rovers', FC HOBO's acting manager, Ahmed Al Vespa found it tougher to maintain the composure of his team as his opponents hounded the men in green all over the park with late challenges, verbal abuse and more interestingly obvious malicious attacks.
One such incident involved Sasi Wan-too-fai-zed Kumar as he was given a flying kick by TUADRFC's Ang Ching Chong following a fair and perfectly timed challenge by the former. FC HOBO has since reported the matter to the SCDF and they have since agreed to not rescue his cat in the case of Ang's pet ever being stuck in a tree.
Final score FC HOBO 4 - TUADRFC 3

HOBO Early Morning Bulletin
Digging deep into our generous transfer kitty provided by our half-Russian half-Something else Billionaire owner, Imraniov Ayub, FC HOBO has decided to splash the cash on M. Khidhir for an undisclosed fee.
Club spokesperson, Tiberius Sexysophan revealed that M. Khidhir was actually part of FC HOBO's youth academy, but left due to unknown reasons.
Sources close to the highly rated player says M. Khidhir described the move as a step forward in his career after constant footballing stagnation as a result of numerous overseas stints to peddle illegal DVDs.
In other news, confirmation regarding this Sunday's Friendly match will be sent out via web SMS as a means of club-wide cost cutting. This has been a direct result of the influx in the price of fresh prawns. Designated communication funds have been wasted away on the Executive committee's late night Fishing activities.
FC HOBO Bulletin would like to wish one of our own, Hafiz 'Starhub' Razak, a Happy 23rd Birthday and would simultaneously remind him to cut his hair.

FC HOBO Bulletin.
As you may have already figured, the above mentioned affair will be our final practice game before the actual league the following week.
The EXCOs have decided that it will definitely be used to assess our new HOBO-ers and a few new team tactics/strategies. (ehem).
Comms IC will be contacting everyone by Wednesday,16th July latest to confirm individual's attendance.
And in case your mouse can't quite navigate down-right where the fixtures/venues are stated:-
VENUE: EASTSPRING SECONDARY SCHOOL
TIME: 9AM Kickoff. 830AM Arrival/Pre-Match Briefing
Oh Golly, we're so thoughtful.
Massive Squad Expansion
Well, first thing's first. Its not really THAT massive. (Locate player list to your right lah).
We hope that we have everyone's understanding that a sizeable squad number is necessary for our constant progress and development, be it in a league or as a sporting organization per se.
The main criterion for our choices would at face value be an individual's ability to bond with the team off the field, because that's what we essentially are, peers who share a common passion, regardless of talent level or even super-star status.
So if you know of anyone who may just fit in and perhaps even be of a positive contribution, contact the committee immediately! Or at the very least email lah.
Even if its for self recommendation, oh what the heck. Cos being the lesser of self indulgence when it comes to false modesty, is always welcomed in this part of town.
FC HOBO Bulletin out. Goodnight

Proposition to join SAMTAS Football League
Our dear Imran has suggested that we do partake in the above stated league.
Due to kick off in the first weekend of August, the details are as follows;-
- Each team can register a maximum of 20 players per team.
- A minimum of 8 and maximum of 12 teams to participate in the league.
- All games will be played on either Saturday noon (3 to 5pm and 5 to 7pm slots) or Sunday morning (9 to 11am and 11am to 1pm slots).
- All games will be played in either of the listed pitches: St Wifred Stadium, Xinmin Secondary School, Woodlands Secondary School, Jurong Junior College and Si Ling Secondary School.
- Fixtures will be decided and mailed out to teams two weeks before the start of the league.
- There are two methods of payment. Teams can either choose to pay the entire sum required before the registration deadline, which is 10th July 2008, or can choose to pay in two installments (one before the registration deadline and the second by 15th August 2008).
- Discounts will be offered to teams that pay the lump sum in one payment.Only even number of teams will participate in the league. So it’s either 8, 10 or 12 teams.
- The cost of registration is as follows:* 8 teams in the league – Total cost = S$1120 (total of 14 games)* Discounted rate for lump sum payment – S$1000* 10 teams in the league – Total cost = S$1440 (total of 18 games)* Discounted rate for lump sum payment – S$1200* 12 teams in the league – Total cost = S$1760 (total of 22 games)* Discounted rate for lump sum payment – S$1500
- Prizes will be awarded to the team that is first placed at the end of the league in the form of medals for each of the 20 players in the team and a league trophy.
- This arrangement will be the same regardless of whether how many teams are finally registered for the league.
- Cash prizes will only be given out to the first placed team if there are 12 teams playing in the league.
So this idea will be pitched to you guys this Sunday before our next game. This is the league that makes the most economic sense to join up. We shall see how it goes.
